I’ve been collecting lots of trash or a new round of “Empties”

I’ve been talking a lot lately about new things I’ve purchased, but I’ve also used up a lot, too! In the meantime, my “empties” collection has grown to an insane level.

So, it’s time to take out the trash, aka put together an “empties” post.

Here are my takes on the round of used up products.

Arcona, Cranberry Gommage: Friends. This thing is old. Like I have no idea how old it is, but I know it’s at least three years, and that’s probably being kind. I used to be crazy for this scrub, it smells great and really brightens your face, but I’ve since been all in for the Juara scrub, so this one got forgotten. And it’s expensive. Thus its hiding in the back of my shower for too too long. It’s gone now and probably won’t be coming back.

Arcona, Toner Tea Bar: Ooh, I also LOVED this bar. I used it with my Clarisonic and it really cleared up my skin. In fact, that combo was really the turning point for my skin settling down. But then I abandoned it and haven’t used it in a long time. Also my original Clarisonic broke which is probably why that duo went away. But I have a new Clarisonic I’m trying again—more in the future on that—so maybe we will meet again. But no for now.

SKYN Iceland, Hydro Firming Cooling Eye Gels:  I’ve already repurchased. They take down the puffiness and stay on really well while I get ready in the morning. All good things!

American Provence, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades: Obviously, there are two in here so that shows you how much I love—and use—this product. But my downside is that I feel like I go through these so fast. Clearly. Perhaps I’m using too much? But I’ve repurchased and will continue to use this—I’m definitely a natural deodorant convert.

Beauty Blender: This is the first one I ever bought! So it’s old–and such a nasty color! It was time for it to go. I have others and I’ve also been using a foundation brush a bunch, too. But if you don’t have a Beauty Blender, I recommend you get one! (but really–who doesn’t have one?)

Philosophy, Miracle Worker Eye Cream: This is my holy grail eye cream. I will repurchase again. I’m trying some samples now and using up some old stuff, but I can’t imagine not going back to this one. The consistency is perfect and it really feels substantial just not heavy. I love it.

Balanced Guru, Soothe Me Body Oil: I’ve never mentioned their No-Frizz Hair Oil, but it’s my favorite. Period. They recently reformulated it so the scent has changed and I’m sad, but it’s still great. I bought this body oil when I was restocking the hair oil. There was a sale, plus a shipping deal or something I’m a sucker for—where I spend more to not pay for shipping—but then pay more than the actual shipping cost. Ridiculous. Anyway—yes—this was nice. Really thick and it helped during the winter, for sure. But Pamela got me a body oil for Christmas I really like so I’m not sure I would repurchase this now. But it’s on sale now and it’s totally worth the $11.50! And you could grab the hair oil for free shipping! 🙂

showing a little love to my favorite hair oil–i have one at home–and one at work!

Guerlain, Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Foundation SPF 20, 02N Light: Oh hey, $63 foundation I’ve been too embarrassed to talk about…So yeah. Here’s the thing. I got a sample of this from Sephora and freaked out. First of all, those foundation samples are generally worthless, but for some reason I tried it and the color was perfect. So I did it. I ordered it and thought I would return it if it wasn’t amazing. The problem is—it’s amazing. I seriously love this so much. It is perfect for me. And I did repurchase it—in secret—during the winter Sephora 20% off sales so I had a backup at a slight discount. But guess what, not only is it expensive, it’s not cruelty-free. So sadly, this will be my last time with the greatest foundation I have ever experienced that everyone compliments on how great my skin looks when I wear it. *sigh*

BITE Beauty, Line & Define Lip Primer: Since this post is already too long, you can click here for my review. I actually found Jess’ favorite, Urban Decay, Ozone, in a bin. So I’ve been using that lately and I also have the Colourpop one that is much much cheaper and equally good, so I don’t really see myself repurchasing.

Covergirl, Clump Crusher Mascara: Ugh. One of my top two favorite mascaras of all time. But not cruelty free, so the relationship is over. *double sigh*

Meaningful Beauty, Skin Softening Cleanser: So here’s a trend, a product I love but then abandon to try something new and hopefully better. I have serious commitment issues with products, my friends! This one is random, but I love it. And I also LOVE the Creme de Serum. Yet I’ve repurchased neither. It’s crazy. I totally need to grab these again—and you should, too. Although it looks like you can only buy it in a kit right now–which I’d recommend–but I’m not sure what’s happened with the full size product…

Bare Minerals, Lash Domination: Nope. Did not like this at all. The brush was way too spiky and freaked me out.

Dr. Brandt, Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant: Again, I have to really love an exfoliant to get me to switch from my Juara. So nah.

Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics, Ulta Sleek Body Wash: Oh you already know. Repurchased.

Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics, 3 in One Shampoo, Body Wash and Bubble Bath in Tropical Medley: Ugh. I hated this but I felt like I had to use it up and the container is huge! It always had a weird sour smell to me. Ugh. No. So happy to have this one done! And it looks like it’s been discontinued. Good decision.

We did it!!! So many products finished up, which always makes me happy!

How about you? Have you used anything up that you were SO EXCITED to be done with it? Or do you just get rid of things and not waste your time?

I’m curious! Let us know below!
